Elissa,
Please defend the Constitution which you have sworn to protect. The current administration is doing multiple illegal things daily and it is scaring the hell out of your constituents.

I am a mother of 5 children. I am currently unemployed as the tourism industry has taken a downturn since dickshit in chief has turned the entire world against us with his egotistical and insane tariffs. I was working my dream job as a private gardener, and now my employer can no longer afford my position. My husband works locally in a business directly impacted by tourism, Shorts Brewery. He has been getting fewer and fewer hours at work, and it has been extremely tough to keep our mortgage paid. I'm worried about my housing status, and hopeful we will be able to catch up our mortgage with our income tax refund. I am worried about DOGE having access to our bank account numbers since we have filed our taxes and chosen to get a direct deposit, as it has been reported that DOGE has been meddling in various governmental department computer systems.

Dickshit in chief also wants to cut medicaid. We are all on medicaid in my family, because we cannot afford healthcare otherwise due to my being laid off and my husband getting too few hours to qualify as full time to get employer set up healthcare. We are barely making it and I am on two different daily medications to keep myself alive, not to mention the checkups, vaccinations, sick visits, med checks, and medication for my children of which there are MANY. Medicaid keeps our family healthy and provides for us while we cannot due to factors outside of our control.

I am concerned for my children, and the quality of education they will receive now that it is completely up to the state of Michigan to support the needs of children with disabilities. Two of my children have IEP's, and require speech services for their speech delays. Will their rights be protected?

Will any of our rights be protected? It is up to you to intervene, we voted for you, please PLEASE help us. We are just trying to stay alive in 2025 and not get disappeared to El Salvador for protesting in the streets against this fascist regime that is currently eroding our system of government. When you swore to uphold the constitution you took an oath to listen to voices like mine, and my voice is quivering with fear. All my life I wanted to be a mother, and I was blessed with 5 beautiful souls to guide and raise with love. I volunteered for this job, just like you volunteered for yours. Please raise your voice and stop this madness before it too late for our beloved democracy. Encourage your colleagues across the aisle to stop being scared little bitches and to grow a fucking spine and stand up to the orange shitgibbon in chief.
